Periods 1, 3 & 5  Science Class (Math)

Standard(s):
  • Temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of particles of matter. The relationship between the temperature and the total energy of a system depends on the types, states, and amounts of matter present. (MS-PS3-3),(MS-PS3-4)

Objective:

  • I will explain how there is a limit to how cold something can be. Scientists call this temperature absolute zero because at this temperature there is zero molecular motion.

Agenda:
1. Think Now: Thermal Energy, Chapter 1, Lesson                    4, Molecules and Temperature WARM UP

2. Redefining Temperature
3. Modeling Differences in Temperature.

4. Considering the Heating Systems

5. Achieve3000: A New House on the Block
