Periods 1,3 & 5 Science & Math
Standards6.EE.2a. Write expressions that record operations with numbers and with letters standing for numbers. For example, express the calculation “Subtract y from 5” as 5 – y.

Objective: 
I will create a method for finding the number of small squares in a square frame pattern using words and algebraic expressions.

Criteria for Success:
I will identify two expressions as equivalent by evaluating them for specific values.
