Periods 2 & 4 Math
|
Standards: 6.EE.3. Apply the properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions. For example, apply the distributive property to the expression 3 (2 + x) to produce the equivalent expression 6 + 3x; apply the distributive property to the expression 24x + 18y to produce the equivalent expression 6 (4x + 3y); apply properties of operations to y + y + y to produce the equivalent expression 3y.
Math Practice: I will be reasoning quantitatively.
Objective: I will use generic rectangle area models to multiply multi-digit numbers to generate equivalent expressions.
Agenda:
1. Think Now: Number Talk (10 min.)
2. Write and annotate the objective (5 min.) 3. CPM Lesson 2.3.1
Problems:
2-53 (15 min.) 2-54 (10 min.) 2-51 (10 min.) 2-55 (10 min.) EXIT TICKET (10 minutes)
Homework: Math minute 6 & 7 due Wednesday (Tomorrow!)
