Periods 2 & 4 Math

Standards: 6.G.1. Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes; apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems. Math Practice:  This lesson is focused on units of measure and thus is the foundation for attending to precision in measurement.   Objective:  I will use the standard unit of measure when finding the area of a figure.  I will continue to develop an understanding of composing and decomposing area and begin to look at how this affects perimeter within the context of Base Ten Blocks.
