Periods 2 & 4 Math
|
Standards:
6.Geometry.1: Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes; apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Math Practice: Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others.
Objective:
I will look at the relationships between perimeter and area and experiment with changing area while keeping perimeter the same.
Agenda:
1. Think Now: Math Talk (5 min)
2. Collect & review math homework 3. CPM Lesson 1.1.2
Problems:
1-5 (10 min.) 1-6 (4 min.) 1-7 (15 min.)
1-9 (6 min.)
Exit Ticket:
1-11 part a, b & c (you do not have to write the questions) Homework: None |
Math talk directions:
1. Think about as many strategies to count the dots without counting them one by one.
2. When you are done, place your thumb under your chin and wait quietly.
